Supporting Waldorf in Ukraine
Join the community of support for Waldorf Schools in Ukraine.
We are encouraging schools to join Waldorf One World, and for individuals to contribute to a fall emergency campaign to raise $50,000 to help the schools to survive the winter.
Every day, dedicated, inspired, and courageous Waldorf teachers and friends in Ukraine come together under great stress and enormous challenge to create beautiful, loving & creative spaces where children can play, learn and grow in relative safety & freedom in the shadow of war.
We can help them.
A community is growing in the Waldorf movement in North America and around the world committed to standing with our colleagues in Ukraine offering moral, spiritual, personal and financial support to help these schools survive. Since the war started in 2022 many individuals and groups have helped schools in Ukraine.
As the war continues into its 5th year, our help is needed as much as ever.
Schools across North America are becoming partners, accepting students and families, connecting as pen pals, creating social and artistic projects, and raising money to help.
We cannot stop the war. But we can fight against the effects the war heaps on our colleagues and the Ukrainian families and children they serve.

If you work in a school, speak with your colleagues and friends about how you could best join in

If you have a high school, consider hosting a Ukrainian 12th grade student for a year or a 10th/11th grade student for 3 months.

Join Waldorf One World (WOW-Day)
supported by AWSNA and coordinated by the Friends of Waldorf Education in Germany. Bring your school community together, create your own fundraising activity, and support Waldorf education worldwide. This year WOW-Day in North America, has a special focus on supporting Waldorf schools in Ukraine. Schools are warmly encouraged to join this shared effort, while remaining free to choose any WOW-Day project they would like to support.

Make a personal contribution
Both the Friends of Waldorf Education and Re-Generation Foundation accept tax deductible contributions for Waldorf initiatives in Ukraine. Contributions may be designated for specific initiatives or projects. General contributions are sent to Ukraine through the advisement of our project board members. (see list below)
$150 helps support a child over a year.
$1500 helps support a class over a year.
$15,000 helps support an entire faculty over a year.
All contributions are tax deductible through the Re-Generation Foundation, a US based IRS 501(c)3 charity EIN 88-3898048. 100% goes directly to schools in Ukraine with aid of the Assn of Waldorf Initiatives Ukriane. Re-Generation Foundation and Supporting Waldorf in Ukraine are coordinated by volunteers. Donors will receive a thank you, a donor receipt letter (with IRS information), and a periodic report on the project.
